Education is designed to makes you smarter or dumber?
right there's no such thing as brainwashing in schools... except the properganda, the preaching, the mental conditioning, and the intentional dumbing down of educational systems.
I asked the question to see if people can "Prove" one thing or another. not just spout belief as if it was the truth. Show me Facts and Evidence, or did they not teach you that in school? I wonder why? maybe you're easier to control when you're dumb?

Its purpose is neither. It is merely to introduce you to as many facets of life as possible so that, assuming you have a usable mind, you can begin to form your own opinions and come to your own conclusions.

Education is obviously designed to make ... or, oh, sorry, education is designed to MAKES you smarter. No one was like, you know what we need? Schools! Because we just need to dumb this stuff down, man! No.
Education IS the pursuit of knowledge, really. Smart/dumb are kind of relative terms really, but if you're getting at what I think you're getting at, which is either some kind of dumb conspiracy theory about the government trying to brainwash you, or some cynical view (of course I can tell that by your avatar...) of how people are brainwashing eachother, than its bullsh*t. And either way, your question would be null because you said DESIGNED. So you'd have to go with the conspiracy theory on that one. I hate conspiracy theorists.
