will an older version of norton anti-virus still work ?

ok i have no antivirus software, i was going to buy norton antivirus 2010 for 1 user for 1 year subscription

my question is, since norton 2011 is out will 2010 still work? i know some programs work like that (once a new one is out you can't run an old one)

It might if it still updates. Older Norton programs have been resource hogs for your computer.

Why not use one of the many free programs available? Some of the free programs are better than your Norton. AVG, Avast and Avira are free.

I have used the free version of AVG for years. I also have the free Windows Defender program too.

I only keep one program working at a time but I do turn on the second anti-virus programs periodically to check the computer (once a week at least.) Running more than one program at the same time may cause a conflict.

I also use free Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

With all free programs they also try to sell you the next "better" program at a slight cost. But I never buy any.

I don't open porno sites (if I did I would switch to my iMac anyway,) I don't open emails or links I don't recognize, etc. No kids things on my computer either.

Yes it will work just fine but I wouldn't really recommend Norton.

Try Avast Antivirus. It's free and 10x better and less annoying then Norton.

    Enjoy...

Yes it will work but you probably won't be able to download the latest virus updates.

Get Comodo Internet Security and antivirus, it's free and pretty good.

I don't think it would work.
