Just who defines center, center left, center right?
I just read an answer that defined the democratic party as center right...Good grief! The other day someone posted a dot pie chart that pegged 0bama and Biden center right. These democrats keep making these claims of "center and right". Who are they trying to fool?
It seems like a ploy by the left to program a populace that the democratic party is main stream of society and/or on the right of main stream. That is illogical because support for abortion and homosexual marriages and socialism and judicial activist judges and other unsavory things all originate from the democratic party. I will admit there are about 5 hard Senate RINO's by that Kagan vote, but THEY are not mainstream Conservative, and THEY should be asked to leave. IMO

Yes, it is ridiculous and a ploy to get moderates to vote for these Vermin...I don't think it's working to well...

It's pretty much a proven fact that this country is, on average, center right. It seems that even BO et al now admit to that. Why else would they be trying to claim that this is where they are on the spectrum?
And BO and crew are pushing that lie so hard right now because to truly admit their own place on the spectrum (about as far left as you can go) would alienate the large group of people who are to the right of center (hades - it would alienate the vast majority of independents as well, the same ones who bought his snake oil in 2008 and are now realizing that they were hood winked). And they can't have that. So they employ the Orwellian technique of "new speak" and redefine what the terms mean so that it looks favorable to them.
No sane person could proclaim with a straight face that the current democratic party is anything but far left. So, they redefine the terms.

It's all relative and arbitrary, although some matchups, like the ones you mention above, just don't fit.

"America" does Not define it.
Maybe the United States does.
after all the Real "America" includes other countries such as Canada and countries in Central and South America.
