Can you use a vacuum cleaner to replace a pump for a vacuum chamber?

i want to know if it's pointless or not. I have to do a science experiment and don't want to spend much money

It's pointless - the vacuum cleaner produces only a modest vacuum (while moving a fair amount of air) and leaks, as you can hear by putting your hand over the hose.

You would do better to look on the internet some something like 'vacuum pump from refrigerator compressor'

  • DEPENDS ON THE EXPERIMENT THE VACUUM CLEANER ,, A SHOP VACK . MIGHT B BEST ,,,,WILL DROP THE PRESSURE IN THE CONTAINER,, A CONTAINER WITH A PISTON AND A VACUUM WILL DROP THE PRESSURE FOR A SECOND AS IN A WILSON VACUUM CHAMBER EXPERIMENT LOOK 4 THIS SET UP IN YOUR WEB SEARCH

IE LOOK UP { WILSON TRACK EXPERIMENT
