how should a replica of a hand crank gatling gun be registered?

this could either be a miniature that fires .22's or a full size that fires .45's

    Unless your state has laws to the contrary, it doesn't have to be. Legally, all it is is a rifle. it is not a machine gun because you must crank it continually and no part of the action actually takes place "automatically."

    My first thought would be to ask a registered firearms dealer (before alerting a government office).
