If you want to make a difference than do something that is relevant to teenagers not grown adults.

I've seen students your age that ask their fellow students to bring in pennies and they do a drive where they get all these pennies and donate them to a charity organization.
Pennies are easy because most people have them readily available laying around their houses and it's easy to have kids bring in their pennies. You could find one place at school where when people donate them, you lay them out into a design or something to display how many pennies you have or a big giant jar with a goal to fill the container (like a Sparklettes bottle).
Good luck.
