Alternative for the name Raven (female)?
Not for baby naming purposes, unfortunately, but for character naming. I like the strong, sexy, powerful- possibly a tiny little bit mysterious tones I get from the name, but it doesn't fit with the character's last name (which has already been established by siblings and it's too much of a hassle for me to try and change it!)
Any suggestions?

Ah, I so know that dilemma! Happens to me all the time ;)
Here are some names that give off a similar feel (to me, anyway):
Gwendolyn (Gwen)
Wren
Lilith
Talitha
Jolene
Beatrix
Verena
Alix
Laure (pronounced like the word "lore")
Xanthe
Genova/Nova
Seren
Milena
Here are some names connected to "black", "dark" or "raven" in meaning:
November/Ember
Lenore (ever heard of the poem "the raven" by Edgar Allan Poe? That's where this one came from...)
Darcy/Darcie (means dark)
Kiara/Keira (means dark)
Melantha (means dark flower; pretty legit name for a character, if you ask me :P)
Ebony
Kali (means black)
Blake
Lela (black beauty)
Nerissa (black-haired)
Corvina (means like a raven)
Melaina
Or, if that is not too cheesy, you could pick a name that has Raven as a nickname. That way you can still refer to her as Raven, but if she uses her full name including last name, it won't sound too strange... Here are some names that could have Raven as nickname:
Ravenna (after a place in Italy)
Aravena
maybe even Rowena
Erm, yeah, that wasn't really a lot. Hope this helps anyway, in some way or another... =)
