One thing you need for sure is Liability Insurance.

I am in Houston. I do not know if you need a license. I'm sure you can look that up, But I knew a guy who made a shocking amount of money at it! You just have to really know what you are doing and then it takes time building up a clientele and finding a couple employees you trust. This guy did it pretty much on his own, but he still needed a few people to fill in if he wanted a few days off.

I mean he made like dentist or plumber kind of money and all he did was get tan and drive around maintaining pools.

Just start off really cheap to get a clientele, then start to raise your prices for new customers as you get better, faster, and more organized.
