What is Ikhlaas (Sincerity)?

Its like if my finger is cut and the pain and agony i am going through is felt & experienced by you in true letter & spirit is a True Ikhlaas (Sincerity).

Reciting Sura Ikhlaas multiple times a day helps us to develop Ikhlaas. Ikhlaas is the real essence in every ebadaa we do, if Ikhlaas is void then we are not True Muslims. :)

Ikhlas is from the semtic root of kha-lam-sad

Kh-Lam-Sad = To be pure/genuine/unmixed/clear, to be safe/secure/free from embarrassment or difficulty or destruction, to withdraw/retire/part from the company of people, to come/approach/reach, make a thing clear or pure, explain/expound/interpret, act with reciprocal purity towards someone, to be pure and sincere, to appropriate a thing or person purely to oneself, to purely or sincerely believe (free of hypocrisy).

Assalamu alaykum.Ikhlash is surrender in full to Allah only.Based on surah 112 Al Ikhlash we shoiuld say that Allah is the only one who has almighty We ask for help just to Allah only we could not ask for help from another power except Allah Allah who has no son(child) and no parents.There is no one who can be compared with Allah. Ikhlash means that he/she is not allowed to be riya or arrogant in front of others and if we give a charity do not be followed with rya intention as stated in the surah 8 verse 47 and surah 4 verse 38 In surah 3 verse 138 Allah prohibites us wanting to be praised by others of what we have done.

Ikhlaas means to have the intention of only Allah in one's acts of obedience. The motive must be only the Proximity and Pleasure of Allah. This motive must not be contaminated with personal motives of gain or the pleasure of others.

Elimination of riyaa (show) is precisely the acquisition of Ikhlaas.

"A half a mud (a measure) of corn given in charity by my As’haab is nobler than gold equal to Mount Uhud given in charity by others."

The secret is the degree of Ikhlaas. The Ikhlaas in the Sahaabah is far superior to the Ikhlaas in others. Their reward is in terms of their sincerity and love.

The highest stage of Ikhlaas is the rendering of an act for the sake of only Allah Ta'ala, creation having absolutely no connection in one's motive. A lesser degree of Ikhlaas is that the act is rendered to please people but it was not motivated by any desire for worldly gain. The motive was merely to please others. The third degree of Ikhlaas is to render an act without having any motive. The motive is neither the Deen not the world. This too is Ikhlaas, i.e. the non-existence of riyaa (show).

Before any action we take, we must be clear in our minds that the action is in accordance with the commands of Allah (SWT). This can be done by constant thinking and true understanding of the aim of our life. We have to understand what Allah (SWT) really wants from us.
