i bought a car from a private party and wanna sell it already but i dont have a pink slip yet?
i brought the pink slip and smog check to dmv already. so i have received a paper but not a pink slip.
so the car is under ma name i believe.
now i wanna sell it while a pink slip is in mail.
how do i do it?
its possible rite?

if you find someone dumb enough to give you your money and take the car, keep in mind however, for the time you are waiting for the title you are responsible for who and what damage that vehicle does, as it does not legally change ownership until the dmv gets the original title, signed by you. (you going to take a chance the new owner is not a bank robber? or worse? not me, wait a few exta days, and then sell it ok?

That is not a good thing- he should have given you the title along with a bill of sale but you can just go to the DMV and tell them the VIN and show them the Bill of Sale and they should be able to give you a title...unless the car still has a lien on it in which case you have a long battle ahead of you. If the seller had a loan and didn't pay it off then the lender holds title and will not hand it over until the car is paid off. Good luck.
