Can i get a Graphics Card for Windows Vista if i have terrible graphics in sims 3?

As previous poster says check what your motherboard expansion slots are - the options are that you have an old AGP expansion slot, a new PCI express slot or (worst case) on board graphics with no expansion slots.

You can buy AGP cards, however the performance will not be great. If you have a PCI Express slot there are multitudes of cards out there to go for. Do not go for the 8600 suggested by a previous poster, as this technology is a number of years old. I would suggest (budget allowing) a Radeon 5850 or perhaps an Nvidia 460 as both give very good performance as well as support for direct draw 11.

If you plan to play that game, have a desktop computer with a spare PCI-Expressx16 slot, yes, go ahead and get a better video card, one that will run with your existing power supply. Higher end cards usually require larger power supplies.

If you have a laptop, your are out of luck, you have to live with what you have....

As for watching video, better video cards will improve the playback, a bit. However, a large factor is your internet speed, you have to have enough bandwidth to watch the streaming video without lag. That is strictly a network issue.

You should change your video settings inside the game first.
