My Hispanic catholic neighbors apparently practice their religion incorrectly, what should I do?
They burn candles to the saints, never go to church, read their Bibles, and drink and smoke, etc. ALL of the families in my neighborhood live this way... why is it that only Y!A "American" catholics claim to follow the religion correctly? My neighbors would vow up and down that they too are catholics... as a matter of fact, they hate when I speak of things pertaining to God.
Pls. help me to understand... Thanks.
My Reedemer lives... I am about MY Father's business.... I can't help but follow Him. Sorry.

I am sorry to tell you that is typical of 90% of Catholics in the world. My husband and my step sons were brought up Catholic. I have other members in my family that are Catholic as well. Also did you realize that 9 out of 10 gang members claim to be Catholic as well? My family that is Catholic think that as long as they go to confession and Mass and say there hail Marys and our Fathers they are Heaven bound no matter how they live. I quote my uncle, " Bonnie, isn't Catholicism great? You can live like hell through the week and go to confession and your fine". Let me add that he was serious and not joking. Another thing you need to realize is their bibles are not the same as the Holy Bible. Yes, there is a big difference. I am not saying that all Catholics think like this but many do. Just like most Christians now days do not believe Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven and that all you have to do is live right and believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus is plain when He says we must be born again to enter the kingdom of Heaven and live a righteous life in the eyes of the Lord. I know some amazing Catholics and born again Christians but the hypocrisy is in all religions not just one or the other. All you can do is talk to them about being born again and pray for them everyday. Let them see Jesus Christ's light shine through you and be there for them no matter what it is they need. Make sure they know that you are concerned and love them with out judging them. God bless you and keep you in His loving arms.

Please turn out to be a statistical analyst, for the reason that you appear to utterly disregard the truth that humans are members. Hispanics are extra religious than whites? Is that continuously actual? Why cannot Islamic females believe toward God? Maybe they believe that approach, brain your possess industry. On the opposite hand, my loved ones is Catholic (and really religious at that). I, in my opinion, am now not devout, and my loved ones is aware of that. I appreciate their ideals despite the fact that they do not appreciate mine. I understand I am the proper one doing the proper factor. If I have been devout, I could be Catholic, for the reason that I do consider Catholics on plenty of problems (akin to abortion and marriage), and I do appreciate REAL Catholics' curiosity of their religion. All in all, I suppose Catholicism is an overly exciting faith, and I suppose this question is ridiculous.

Drinking, smoking, and reading the Bible are not sins.
As far as burning candles to saints and not going to church - the former you could just be misunderstanding what they're doing and judging them by the false standards of the Pharisees (which is likely), and the latter a) isn't your business and b) All Catholics know they need to go to Church to receive the sacraments. So if they aren't going to church, then they are willfully sinning and they know they are. Which again, isn't any of your business.

Take them to the New Testament and show them what God wants them to Do, and the New Testament only.
1Co 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Rom 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Rom 16:18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Best course? Keep them always in your prayers, live so that there is witness as to what is true and good and noble and pure and love them as if they are your self. This way nothing that you are supposed to do will be left undone and nothing your are not to do will be done. And remember, some must be loved from a distance lest we become led astray ourselves. And also remember that you are astray yourself in ways you are not even aware of yet. Our understanding is only partial at best until we are awake in the Lord.

The only thing that we can do is pray and hand them over to the Lord. Let them see your good works in Christ and they will be convicted in their hearts. You don't have to stop being neighborly and there are other ways to spread the gospel besides preaching to them. They way you live and love is the best way. God Bless.

Yes, my catholic friend eats meat, what to do? He gives many excuse to eat meat, even based on the Bible.
SB 10.10.10: While living one may be proud of one's body, thinking oneself a very big man, minister, president or even demigod, but whatever one may be, after death this body will turn either into worms, into stool or into ashes. If one kills poor animals to satisfy the temporary whims of this body, one does not know that he will suffer in his next birth, for such a sinful miscreant must go to hell and suffer the results of his actions.

Regardless of who they are and what they are practicing , as in a religious, or non religious - whether they have some belief or are pretending, concentate on your own life and how it is in relationship with God.
If it is perfect then you have the freedom to judge your neigbour/s.

To you sweet one Canvas, what I said may hurt, but Jesus So loves you and so do I.
I am guessing you will take this off the board, as that's what I would recomend doing, I would mail you, but your not accepting email...
I Love you In Jesus
I know it would hurt, but my advice would be to just keep loving them and in your doing so, they will see the 'Real' way Christians live.
Pray for them, and not let their hypocritical ways upset you.
Let your soul be caught up in Jesus, so that you may live your life as a witness to them.
I realise it's never that simple. But for now, that is the best advice I can give.
I could say don't let them anger you. but anger is allowed, provided you don't let it consume you or give in to it.
Be angry and do not sin.
Love and pray these people to God
When you pray or fast for them, you will begin to move in Love for them, not like you addressed your Question.
Your Sister forever,

Yeah, minding your own business sounds about right. You don't sound much like a Catholic anyway.
