I beg to differ. At first I questioned it also purely because of how well Luke has played this year. But after careful consideration, Thomas has been playing mean and over the last few years including the world cup, he has been playing at a level that would be dominant in NRL standards. His defence has lifted big time. Whenever I've seen AUS vs NZ the last couple of times, Petero would try and make the metres as he always does with 3 or 4 guys hanging off him but these last couple of games he has been stopped in his tracks by one man,Leuluai. He's also very quick with the ball in hand. His effort against Aus in last years 4 nations was awesome, before I think he got knocked unconscious or something. It's a good strategic move that will see a usually explosive player in Luke come off the bench and make his mark on the game.

Matalino will come on, put a hit on Thaiday (that won't slow him down too much) then disappear. Would prefer to see Waerea-Hargreaves in there smashin Thaiday and every other forward. I'd also start Frank Paul over Eastwood.

i think it was a good move, this will be the same combo which qon us the world cup, which was also wayne bennets idea, so he obviously knows wat hes talking about. issac luke is great offthe bench, he brings lots of energy and him being on the bench starves him so when he comes on hes ready to blow sh*t up. As for Leulei, he is a really good player its just since hes not in the nrl nobody really knows how good he is. He just recenlty won the super league grand final so he has to be pretty good

i agree with jsinista1 im very dissapointed they have left warea hargreaves out, hes an animal. Hes played great all year and was a stand out for the roosters, and unlike matulino when hargreaves tackles thaiday he actually puts him on the ground

issac luke has always played rep games with some of the game on the bench, even does at club level.

kerney is probs thinking, hes a dengerous player so well get him out there when there all tired.

Issac Luke is not the best hooker in the world. he can run well but that's where his skills end.
