Thoughts on Flowers & cake?

Wedding will be pretty formal event (fiance's wish). I narrowed down dress options and posted on another question. Fiance will wear his black tux.

Colors scheme is with black and white as color scheme. He wishes a ultra-elegant "look" to the event.

My fiancee' has been quite involved with wedding planning, found this bouquet and loves it. http://wedding.decoratrends.com/2010_08_01_archive...

Cake:

1. (his choice) http://cdn.blisstree.com/files/2007/02/black-and-w... but a combination of white & black flowers on top

2. http://www.weddingandcakes.com/wp-content/uploads/...

3. http://www.perfect-wedding-day.com/image-files/bla...

Dinner table will be set something like this

thoughts?

Update:

I understand and appreciate your thoughts on the morning suit; however, fiance owns his tuxedo and several vests & ties. Although he could certainly buy or rent a morning suit, he feels it is more prudent to not spend $ on that.

    Hi and congratulations!

OH...I love everything! The first link was lots of pictures...with the bouquets at the end, so not certain which one exactly you are looking at. They are all lovely, though.

Cake: All are nice. Maybe go with the one your fiance likes? BUT....in the last link, with the table settings....look at the cake in the background! It is plain white on top with a black ribbon, then the second and third layers are decorated differently.....I like that one!

In any case, it all looks lovely.

    hi!!

I think the best cake is your second option. I think that one is the best because since you are looking for an elegant wedding, the ribbons on the other cakes are a little tacky. Go with the ones that have less things, elegant and clean look are the best!!! if he really really likes the first cake option do something similar but without the ribbon on top, use some clean looking flowers or a cake topper.

The flowers look very simple and not well thought out for an elegant wedding, plus (this is personal) i would add a little color to the bouquet so it doesn't seem monochromatic.

Try using white mini calla lilies they are very elegant and classy http://www.flowerexplosion.com/by-flower/callas/mi... If i were you i would make a bouquet with the white mini calla as the primary flower, add some black tinted roses as the secondary flower and have some white and pink cymbidium orchids http://www.flowerexplosion.com/by-flower/orchids/c... and something like salal foliage to make it all together. I would use black ribbon and some pearls on it as well.

The salal foliage is so minimal that you wouldn't even notice the green on it plus the cymbidum orchids with the little pink will catch people's eye.

This way your bouquet will look as great as everything else, elegant, classy and "fashion" if you can call it that.

Best wishes and the best of luck planning the wedding!

Hi I did not look at your cake or other attachments, however I do have a suggestion. A black tux will look lovely, however given the fact that your fiance seems to be looking for a top drawer wedding, I would personally change the tux for the morning suit-to me its more "upper crust", "ultra elegant look".

good luck on your special day, and have fun.
