Why do New Yorkers have obnoxious accents & Southerners sound retarded? How did they get these accents?

    hey us southerners are believed to be Scottish and new yorkers well they live in New York what do u expect?

    That's mean to say about peoples accents, people sound different because of the areas they grew up in. I happen to like accents, they make people interesting and sound sexy.
