Is this a good way to handle break up with a Scorpio?

Question

My boyfriend broke up with me few days ago saying he needs to set his career goal first and he doesn't want to worry about the other person (me) while he's trying to fix his career life and that he has so much going on in his plate. I respect his decision though it hurts me. 

I used to text or call him every other day when he doesn't call or anything. He always required lot of space for himself and I used to give it to him. Since the break up (it didn't end in a bad way) I haven't texted or call him. He text me the next day after the break up wishing me "Hope you have a good day at work". After an hour or so I text him back wishing the same. 

Am I handling it right, as in not texting or calling him to check and see if he's doing ok? Do you think he might be expecting a text or call from me, since I used to do that all the time as in text him or call him. I am a Scorpio too btw... and my Scorpio ex was one confusing individual with random mood swings. 

Please tell me what you think I should do...

let the guy have his space... if he does care for you, a few more days should see him calling. If he doesn't call maybe he was not sure how he felt about you.. either way have fun..

We don't really give up at all. He makes things difficult because he is madly in love with you and doesn't know what to do about it. Scorpios hate it when you shut them out. Its okay for us to do it to you, but in return it pisses us off. When we are really comfortable with the person we want to understand fully that there is no hope. He believes you two can still do it. We are very obsessive it even pisses me off that I am like that too.

I'm going through the same thing. Didn't end bad. But we text and would talk a lot too. I think just be friendly since it didn't end badly. That way, the door is still open.

I'm a scorpio, and i feel quite...Horrible to say.
But i expect mostly someone to speak first, only because i feel as if i'd be bugging them.

From past experiences though, they settled that for me..and clearly at stages i did bug people..
So maybe my past had a bad reflect on my future, broke me down a little.

But a call wouldn't hurt, and i expect he'd be quite pleased you're still there to speak with.

A great person in your life is one to not let go.
