If I want them aren't I supposed to get my own updates in my "updates" at my email inbox?

It always says no updates at this time, but I want my own updates and can't get it to do that. Yes there is the little thingy to click on in the top at the left that says Profile, Updates, and Account info. It says my first name, my initial for my middle name, and You are signed in as, with my email address. But when I click on updates it goes to my Profile page and I still have to click again to get my own updates. Is that how it's supposed to work? Why shouldn't I get my updates at my email inbox?

Philosophically I have no updates for you. Try "customer service" (or disservice, as the case may be).

These are the things you'll find on your Q&A page.

You may click on "Edit My Prefences" where you can navigate to the things you prefer = like getting updates of your contacts' questions, or receiving notices (on your email inbox) when people answered your posted questions.
