Why doesn't anybody take the Cope twins seriously?

It's not anything against them personally I don't think. Too many have that mind set like Richard Petty said "women don't belong on the race track". So therefore there is that old machismo of NASCAR being a mans sport. The fact that women on the track don't do so well only reaffirms that concensus. Doesn't matter who daddy or mommy is.

P.S. Danica is pretty in a natural way. The Cope twins look fake...like manniquins almost. Too much bleach, makeup and fake tans. And I would bet my house on the fact that they aren't blonde. If they toned it down a bit...then yeah they might actually be pretty. IMO

I have to agree with Winter Glory. I will reserve comment until I have seen more of their driving abilities....... One NASCAR race does not make a NASCAR driver.......

I'm going to add this one thought: To be taken seriously in my book means being careful in how you package yourself. For example, not all of Danica's commercials are "classy" in my book. I think T & A should be left out of NASCAR............ Can you imagine Mark Martin partially clothed?

I saw a picture of the Cope twins and thought one of them was Paris Hilton. And why doesn't anyone take Paris Hilton serious? Because she's named after a hotel. Why is it that when people reference to the Cope twins, do they have to include two people. Because they are just a novelty, that's why.

I watched them in an ARCA race a few years ago, and it was pretty sad...it seemed like they were only there because they plastered on a bunch of makeup, dyed their hair blonde, and attempted to look cute. They both crashed out of the race real early (due to thier own making) and finished poorly. Maybe they have improved their skills in the last few years, (and are ready for NASCAR)

Unfortunately most people just don't take females with blonde hair seriously no matter what the job is. No, they are not natural blonde's, however, a persons looks doesn't determine their ability. These girls have mean trying to get into a ride for quite a while now. Finding sponsors in today's economy is challenge. Their family doesn't have the money or anywhere near the fame that the above mentioned drivers do. I have to give them an A for today. They finished the race and gained some valuable experience. Angela was involved in three spins, two were the fault of other drivers. She showed she could recover from a spin each time. Many of the male competitors don't have that same control. They both bought the trucks home clean. Good job Girls!

Yea I read the article, said they did some go kart racing and drove a couple races in ARCA, Whoopee. don't get me wrong, I race Karts, same tracks in NORCAL that Jeff and AJ started there careers on, it ain't as easy as it sounds, in fact the Sacramento track at PC is affectionately known as the Blood Bath, learn to race or die. so exactly where did they do this go kart racing? any championships? humm.

I don't know enough about their racing abilities to have an opinion one way or the other.

A drivers appearance is irrelevant to me, obviously given I'm a Kyle Busch fan.(he's not exactly a looker) But damn he can drive.

I agree with Maggie.. They don't look like they're selling their driving ability.. Not to mention what Maggie said... Danica may be using her natural good looks to help her highlight her driving ability, but so far all the Cope twins have shown, is an illusion.. Not even a good one..

I thought they did ok. Got back up after spins. I respect they ran and finished.

They should get more air time than Danica. they have a much better personality and are much better looking...
