Is a gay guy without a car dateable?

Let me ask you this: is a straight woman without a car dateable? Of course she is! Straight men will drive to the ends of the earth just to have sex. The dynamics of a gay male relationship are different, and much more equitable. To try to transfer the inequality of straight relationships to gay male relationships by assuming bottoms face the same prejudices as women is just plain idiotic.

Well I know you're concerned for your brother and you should be so I'd make your feelings about the fellow clear to him. But before doing so I suggest you try and get to know him before passing judgment on him.

However, bear in mind that such a decision as to if this is someone your brother wants to date can only be made by one person; your brother. Its ultimately up to him to decide (right or wrong) who he wants to date. Perhaps you should think of this as a learning experience for your brother though to decide if he really wants to date someone like this and hopefully so he'll learn that he wants someone better. But I really can't pass judgment as I haven't met the other guy or your brother and have no idea how old he is or what his feelings are on the matter or his convictions.

It depends on the reason he has no job or car. Does he just piss away his time and not even look for work? Did he get his license taken away?

If he's looking for work but can't find it then it's up to your brother whether or not he's dateable. I'm out of work myself, though I was employed for the first two years of my current relationship. It would have been shallow for her to dump me because I got laid off.

Now I'm out looking for work every day and my applications are ignored and the few interviews I get are fruitless. As hard as I'm trying, if she were to dump me now that would just be adding insult to injury.

If he has no job because he just sits around all day doing nothing, living off of his relatives, then it doesn't matter if he's straight or gay. He's a bum and no self respecting person should be dating him.
