What are the products when you add heat to NaClO (s)?
Is this a decomposition reaction that breaks down into Na+ and ClO-? Or does this break down further to Na Cl2(g) and O2(g)?
Note: O2 and Cl2 are diatomic gases.
Of course this would make the original Bal Equation 2NaClO = 2Na(s) + Cl2(g) + O2(g).

1] Depends on just how hot you go....
2] At any reasonable temperature what will happen is 2 NaClO --> 2 NaCl + O2
3] You have to get way way hotter to remove Cl from Na; think LaChatalier.
4] Hot enough and all you have is plasma
