As far as mustangs go for Ford, the V8's are the more powerful muscle while V6's are the more numerous models, and thus the real sellers for Ford that keep the brand in production. Not everyone can afford a V8 so you get what you can, but don't get confused about what you've got.

I have a V6 as well, since it's my daily driver I know what it is and isn't capable of, and other than getting around slow cars and semi trucks on the highway, I don't think/act like it's a race car

Cause V6's are not really built for speed, they're just built to get decent MPG and to go fast enough on the highway for regular driving.

You could maybe soup it up a little if you want, but I wouldn't recommend going nuts w/ it. You'll only get so much out of it. If you really wanted fast out of a V6 you should have gone w/ the 2011 V6. (cause 305 is pretty good considering)

Now of course it is possible to mod the one you've got to the point it can contend w/ a V8, but that would cost so much money/time to do it, that it makes more sense to just to get the V8 to start w/ if speed/power is all you want.

Not possible. Not built for speed. Rip all the seats out except the drivers seat and remove the spare tire and jack and it should make the car feel somewhat faster. Not a whole lot but enough.
