1/x-1 + 1/2 = 2/x^2-1

    Presentation is incorrect and should be :-

    1 / ( x - 1 ) + 1/2 = 2 / ( x ² - 1 )

    1 / ( x - 1 ) + 1/2 = 2 / ( x - 1 ) ( x + 1 )

    2 x + 2 + ( x - 1 ) ( x + 1 ) = 4

    2x + 2 + x ² - 1 = 4

    x ² + 2x - 3 = 0

    ( x + 3 ) ( x - 1 ) = 0

    x = - 3 , x = 1
