Does this equation come out to no solution?

this is the equation: 4v-9=6v+7

if it's un answerable, plz telll me cuz i've spent almost forever on it, and if it is solvable, please tell me how to do it thanx :)

    it is definitely solvable

    first, you need to combine like terms:

    so you add 9 to both sides and subtract 6v from both sides:

    4v-6v-9+9 = 6v-6v+7+9

    then you simplify:

    -2v = 16

    then you divide -2 from both sides:

    and your answer is v = -8

    its -8

    4v-9=6v+7

    -7 -7

    4v-16=6v

    -4v -4v

    -16=2v

    divide by 2 on both sides

    v=-8

    A basic concept of Algebra is that is an expression is equal (like above), you can add or subtract an equal thing to both sides, and the expression is still equal. Like if you and I both have 7 eggs, we can each add 3 eggs, and will still have equal amounts. Or we can each subtract 4 eggs, and will still have equal amounts.

    Keeping that in mind, try subtracting 4v from both sides of the equation. Then try adding 9 to both sides. Now can you solve it?

    4v-9=6v+7

    first, subtract 6v.

    -2v-9=7

    then, add nine to both sides.

    -2v=16

    then, divide each side by -2.

    v=-8

    check:

    4(-8)-9=6(-8)+7

    -32-9=-48+7

    -41=-41 yep. thats right!

    -2v=16

    -v=8

    v=-8

    V= -8
