Are you better at making a long story short or a short story long?

    I make a short story Long, the reason being i hate leaving out stuff, I always want to build my way up to the point instead of just coming out and saying what is to be said, Because I feel building it up is my way of making what ever story or point i am saying stronger...yea short story turns into a long story.

    Both, I can get to the point succinctly if I have to.

    If I feel the need to embellish a tale, add a richer, more enlightening, background to my narrative, then I have no problem dipping into my imagination to find the most entertaining, enthralling way to relate the essential verity of the situation.

    My friends kids always wanted me to read them bedside stories, because I used to 'added extra bits in'.

    For example:

    He climbed up her hair. {She must have braced herself against something because otherwise as soon as he put his weight on her hair, she would have gone flying out of the window, @rse-over-tit, splat on top of him & then where would they have been ?}
