The qualities of Muhammad SAW which are written in the Torah and in Gospel?

Surat Al-Baqarah 2:142

Sahih International

Those to whom We gave the Scripture know him as they know their own sons. But indeed, a party of them conceal the truth while they know [it].

Muhsin Khan

Those to whom We gave the Scripture (Jews and Christians) recognize him (Muhammad SAW or the Ka'bah at Makkah) as they recognize their sons. But verily, a party of them conceal the truth while they know it - [i.e. the qualities of Muhammad SAW which are written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)].

I was raised to be a Christian, but I am a seeker of truth. This says the "qualities" of Muhammad are in the Gospel (I've not read the Torah yet). Perhaps I will recognize them later as I continue reading but thought I'd ask anyway if anyone could point verses for reference. Any guidance is appreciated.

You should read John 14-16 again, does this sound like what Muhammad would do?

    1. "He will glorify me" (John 16.14).

    2. "He will bear witness to me" (John 15.26).

    3. "He will convince the world concerning sin because they do not believe in me" (John 16. 8-9).

    4. "He will take what is mine and declare it to you" (John 16.14).

    5. "He will bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you" (John 14.26). Would Muhammad glorify Jesus?

Now concerning Deuteronomy 18: Israelites did not view Ishmaelites as there brethren. Throughout the Bible we see brethren is referring to the other tribes of Israel.

And there has not arisen a prophet since in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face, none like him for all the signs and wonders which the Lord sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to all his land, and for all the mighty power and all the great and terrible deeds which Moses performed in the sight of all Israel.

    Deuteronomy 34.10-12.

The three distinguishing features of Moses as a prophet are clearly mentioned: he was the mediator between God and Israel, he knew the Lord face to face, and he did great signs and wonders. The prophet like him would obviously have to emulate these unique features of his prophethood. Did Muhammad possess these exceptional characteristics by which the prophet was to be recognised?

Firstly, whereas God spoke directly to Moses, so that he was a direct mediator between God and the people of Israel, the Qur'an is alleged to have come at all times from the Angel Gabriel to Muhammad and at no time did God directly communicate it to him face to face, as the Muslims themselves admit. He also did not mediate a covenant between God and the people of Israel.

Secondly, Muhammad performed no signs and wonders. Although the Hadith record some fanciful miracles, these are purely mythical, for the Qur'an very clearly says of Muhammad that he performed no signs. In Surah 6.37, when Muhammad's adversaries say "Why has no sign been sent down to him from his Lord?", Muhammad is bidden to reply merely that God could send one if he wanted to but had not done so. In the same Surah we read that Muhammad said, "I have not that for which you are impatient" (Surah 6.57), meaning signs and wonders such as Moses had. He goes on to say that if he had had them, the dispute between him and them would have been decided long ago.

Now concerning Songs of Solomon 5:16, the word there is machmad/מַחְמַד it does not translate as "Muhammad" it means beloved, desire, goodly, lovely, pleasant thing.

@Shine: Time to debunk you: First of all Luke the Disciple was not Jewish, so your wrong there. Second, Servant was a common name for the Messiah. Third, Luke 2:28 identifies Jesus as the light for the Gentiles. WOW! I debunked you in 3 seconds! And for the rest of what you said, you basically jumped to conclusion.

    Hi'

There are more verses in the Bible and Torah that mentions Prophet Muhammad (litterally):

In the 5th chapter of the Shir haShirim ( שיר השירים ), which is one of the five megilot or Sacred Scrolls that are part of the Hebrew Bible or for short the "Song of Solomon" (also called "Song of Songs"). That chapter is giving a prophecy about an individual to come, a mystery man.

Song of Songs 5:15 compares this prophetic mystery man to the land of "Lebanon" which is the land of the Arabs. This implies that the mystery man would be an Arab.

Song of Songs 5:10 says: "My beloved is white and ruddy, pre-eminent above ten thousand." This is a prophecy of Prophet Muhammad as he conquered Mecca. It is a well known historically documented fact that in the year 630 CE Muhammad entered Mecca as the leader of an army of "ten thousand men". This verse and the preceeding verse (v. 11) also match Muhammad's physical discription as found in Muslim sources (light skin and black hair).

In reading the English translation of Song of Songs 5:16 it finishes the description by saying: "He is altogether lovely" but what most people don't know is that the name of that man was given in the original megilot. Here is the name written in ancient Hebrew as it appears in verse sixteen: מחמד . It is read as : "Mahammad". According to Ben Yehuda's Hebrew-English Dictionary, it is correctly pronounced as "Mahammad".

If you don't believe me, go to these translator links, paste the name מחמד and then translate it into English. You will see that מחמד is translated as "Muhammad".

Please read this in Psalms 84:

It talks about the Pilgrimage in Meca.

It talks about a sparrow and her baby " Hajar and Ismael".

It talks about a pool of water "zamzam well at the Kaaba in Meca"

    What do you think?

    << Psalm 84 >>

    King James Bible

    --------------------------------------…

1 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!

2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.

4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

8 O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee

The first House of God to be set up for men was at Bakkah the blessed, a guidance for the people of the world. (96)

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will sent him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. ... I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. How be it when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak.. and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. (John 16:7-14)

The Lord thy God will raise unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me, unto him ye shall hearken. (Deuteronomy 18:15)

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass that, whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. (Deuteronomy 18:18-19)

God comes from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the ea11h was full of his praise. And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand5: and there was the hiding of his power. Before him went the pestilence, and the burning coals went fo11h at his feet. He stood and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, and the perpetual hills did bow: his ways are everlasting. I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction; and the cu11ain of the land of Midian did tremble. (Habakkuk 3:3-7)

    Muhammad means the praised one...

these are just a few of the ones, but you can also look at the narrations by Saffiya (the Jewish wife of Muhammad, pbuh)... she tells of what she heard her father, chief of the Jewish tribe, say about Prophet Muhammad, pbuh.

    Isaiah 42 is Muhammad(Pbuh)

"Behold my servant, whom I uphold ; MINE ELECT, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my Spirit upon him: he shall bring forth Judgement to the Gentiles" [Isaiah, 42:1]

"MINE ELECT" means "My Chosen one" which is one of tiltles prophet Muhammad, in Arabic it is "Al-Mustafa" and also Prophet Muhammad always claimed himself as "Servant of God"

"He will not cry out or raise His voice, Nor make his voice heard in the Street" [Isaiah 42:2]

According to Bible Jesus cried during the times of crucifixion(Matthew 27:46)

"A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth Judgement unto truth" [Isaiah 42:3]

"He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgement in the earth; and the isles shall wait for his law" [Isaiah 42:4]

The christ was bruised and could not establish justice on earth while he was on earth, but Prophet Muhammad did establish justise in Arabia in his life time.

A little times Jesus lived in earth and also he never gave us any new law or revelation from God(Matthew 5:17-20), This is Prophet Muhammad who gave us a new divine Law!

    read >"earth"

Jesus couldn't finish his mission which had continued only for 3 years. He fail and discouraged and he could not set Judgement in the earth. As Jesus himself says:

"My kingdom is not of this world..." [John 18:36]

But Muhammad(Pbuh) established a state and ruled with his law that given by God. Therefor he set judgement in the earth and he did not fail and he was not discouraged.

    >and the isles shall wait for "his law"

Jesus did not come with new law. But Muhammad(Pbuh) came with new law.

"Thus saith God the lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which come out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein;" [Isaiah 42:5]

"I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and A LIGHT FOR THE GENTILE" [Isaiah 42:6]

Muhammad(Pbuh) is a descendent of Abraham(Pbuh) and came to whole mankind.

"I have not sent thee but as a universal(Messenger) to men, giving them glad tidings, and warning them (against sin), But MOST MEN UNDERSTAND NOT" [Quran, 34:28]

Jesus was sent only for the childrens of Israel.

He answered "I was sent only to the lost sheep of israel" [Matthew 15:24]

Jesus said to his 12 Apostles

"Do not go among the gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans" [Matthew 10:5]

"Go rather to the lost sheep of israel" [Matthew 10:6]

Also in the life times of Jesus, he never accepted any gentile as his disciple. This is historical truth.

"To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from psion, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house" [Isaiah 42:7]

"To open blind eyes". If we read the context and verse 19 we will see more clearly that the word blind is used as an idiom.

Meaning, he will show people the things that they did not know and will show people how comprehend God and His message.

Prison is used as an idiom too. If a spirit doesn't know God and doesn't obey Him, then that spirit is prison of Satan, and that person is prisoner of Satan.

"I am the LORD; that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to gravens idols" [Isaiah 42:8]

It indicates that the prophesied Prophet will specifically eradicate idolatry. With explanation of verse 7, we clearly understand that the person that God is talking about will come to place that people worship idols as their gods. If we read 17 with the context, we may understand it better.

Jesus did not preach to the pagans but the non-idolator Jews. This is Prophet Muhammad who came during the ignorance period of Arabs and destroyed all idols from Kabba and he turned them to the real God of Abraham.

"Behold, the former things came to pass, the new things do I declare: before they spring forth I will tell you of them" [Isaiah 42:9]

As we read in verse 4 and with explanation of it, the person, God is talking about, will come new law. And this person can not be Jesus because of the reasons started above. This person is nobody but Muhammad(Pbuh).

"Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles and inhabitants thereof" [Isaiah 42:10]

This new Song literally means a new scripture with a new language. More explicitly, Prophesied Isaiah "For with stammering lips and another tongue, will he(God) speak to this people" [Isaiah 28:11] If you read the Arabic Quran then easily you will understand that it seems a song.

"Let the desert and its towns raise their voices; LET THE SETTLEMENTS WHERE KEDAR REJOICE. Let the people of Sela sign for Joy; let them shout from the mountaintops."[Isaiah 42:11]

"Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands" [Isaiah 42:12]

Read>> "LET THE SETTLEMENTS WHERE KEDAR REJOICE.." [Isaiah 42:11]

    Who this Kedar?

"And these are the name of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: this firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth, and kedar..[Gen, 25:13]

Kedar is the 2nd Son of Ishmael, The origin of Muhammad.

Kedar is also synonymous with all of Arabia in general, as in Ezekiel

"Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar.."[Ezekiel, 27:21]

The people of Kedar are the original Arabs.

    Read Isaiah 21:13-19

Source(s): THEY ARE TODAYS SAUDIS AND Yemenis. And these are 100% Muslims!! So this "Light of the Gentiles" and "Kedar Lives rejoice" are CLEAR PROPHECIES AND SIGNS FOR THE DIVINE AND TRUTHFUL RELIGION OF ISLAM! In Isaiah 42:11 God clearly says that He will send the people of Kedar (i.e the Arabs) a Prophet and they should "Rejoice" and "raise ties voice" in happiness. Also, "Let the DESERT and its towns raise their voices" clear referring to Arabia, since Arabia is known to be made of mostly deserts. Jerusalem was never called "DESERT", Nor the Jews were called the people of "Kedar" Another important point: Jesus NEVER even visited in Arabia! It was Prophet Muhammad that was Born and lived in the lands of Kedar "The LORD WILL MARCH FORTH LIKE A MIGHTY HERO: HE WILL COME OUT LIKE A WARRIOR, FULL OF FURY. HE WILL SHOUT HIS BATTLE CRY AND CRUSH ALL HIS ENEMIES" [Isaiah 42:13] "I have long time holding my peace; I have still and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing women; I will destroy and devour at once" [Isaiah 42:14] This clear means that this Prophet will fight by the sword the enemies of God. Until Islam, God had never ordered any prophets to fight against unbelievers to destroy them. Believers were fighting only to defense themselves. But God opered Muhammad to fight against unbelievers, and slay them if they dont accept God. If anyone study the life of Muhammad(Pbuh) then easily he will understand that Muhammad(Pbuh) was the commander of the army and he fought with his sword. It was Muhammad and his disciples that spread Islam by crushing and defeating the enemies in the Battle. Prophet Muhammad fought the against of pagans in Mecca. Muslims were little but they won all the battle by the help of God. Jesus never fought any war nor ever led any Army, So THIS PROPHECY CLEARLY CAN NOT APPLY TO HIM. "I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up pools" [Isaiah 42:15] Here God is talking about the desert of Arabia. In deserts place, mountains and hills of sand are not steady, they diminish with winds and another one appears. And u can not find rivers but small water islands as described by God. "And I will bring blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead than in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked thins straight. These things I will do unto them, and not forsake them" [Isaiah 42:16] Until Muhammad Arabs were blind and they were worshipping idols, killing baby girl, drinking alcohol, gambling etc. God a way (Islam, unity of God) that they did not know, made Quran and Muhammad guide (as light before) them and made crooked things (mentioned above) straight. "They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven idols, that they say to the molten idols, Ye are our gods" [Isaiah 42:17] This is exactly what pagan Arabs did, when they heard message that given to Muhammad(Pbuh) by God. They offered money, authority and many things to Prophet and he did not accept any of them. They ashamed, because they thought that all other Arabs will mock them and will not visit Kabba(at that times they were using kabba as place of the idols that all other Arabs tribes were using) and this would be their economic end. And they turned graven idols and they asked help from those idols. THIS VERSE HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH JESUS OR ANY ISRAEL PROPHETS! "Here, ye deaf, and look, ye blind, that ye may see." [Isaiah 42:18] Here God Almighty is upset and greatly disappointed from the Jews. He called them "deaf and blind" "Who is blind, but my Servant? Or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? Who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as lie LORD'S Servant?" [Isaiah 42:19] "Seeing my things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not." [Isaiah 42:20] In this verse God talks to Jews and Christians. In 19 verse God says "Who is blind or deaf? My Messenger (Muhammad) and his (followers) or you (Jews and Christians)? Indeed Christians and Jews think that Muslims do not see right path (blind). "The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable" [Isaiah 42:21] In Quran many places God called Muhammad as Habib which meaning "My Closest friend" and this is the honour for his righteousness. "He will magnify the law" Prophet Muhammad(Pbuh) magnified the law and peoples still follow his law. "But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them soared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses; they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore" [Isaiah 42:22] In this verse God talks about corrupted society of pagan Arabs. And indeed, He had not send any prophets to Arabs until Muhammad(Pbuh). That's why "none saith, Restore". But up Jesus, many prophets had been send to israelites. So, this verse also has nothing to do with Jesus. "And among u will give ear to this? Who will hearken and hear for the time to come?" [Isaiah 42:23] Who will become Muslim? An important point: God promised that He will give a "GREAT NATION" to Ishmael from his descendents(Genesis, 17:20) Jesus Prophecied that God Almighty will take His Kingdom from the Jews and give it to "Another Nation"(Matthew 21:43) ***Now kingdom of God with Muslims!
