I would like to know what Muslims think of this video...?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6st_tFj6ouM&feature...
This man brings forward what he believes to be proof that Muhammad is a false prophet. Is it possible that he could be right? Why or Why not?
(I realize this may anger some of you and the video does come across as insulting. It is not MY intention to insult or anger anyone, but this information really does make me wonder if this is indeed proof that Muhammad was false. Matthew 24:10-12 New International Version (NIV)
10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold...)

The Quran says that God is beyond begetting a child. But is it possible that God "claimed" Christ as His son. I have heard that it is possible that John 3:16 was mistranslated and that it should read, "His only legitimate son" rather than "His only begotten son".

What do you think that means? I know of several people who believes it to be the actual land itself.
Genesis 32
28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[f] because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”
29 Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.”
But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there.
30 So Jacob called the place Peniel,[g] saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoQuestion for Muslims...?
I am a Protestant Christian. I began reading the Quran and I am finding some difficulty with the way you see Jesus.
The Quran tells us that God is beyond having a son. Why then would God himself call Jesus his son?
Matthew 3:16-17
16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
Matthew 8:28-29
28 When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes,[a] two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way. 29 “What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?”
Matthew 16:16-17
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.
Galatians 1:6-10
No Other Gospel (from the apostle Paul)
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 BUT EVEN IF WE OR AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN SHOULD PREACH ANOTHER GOSPEL OTHER THAN THE ONE WE PREACHED TO YOU, LET THEM BE UNDER GOD'S CURSE! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!
10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
I understand that Muhammed believed it was Gabriel that told him that the book was corrupted. In what way was it corrupted? (Maybe I just haven't gotten that far).

16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoThe qualities of Muhammad SAW which are written in the Torah and in Gospel?
Surat Al-Baqarah 2:142
Sahih International
Those to whom We gave the Scripture know him as they know their own sons. But indeed, a party of them conceal the truth while they know [it].
Muhsin Khan
Those to whom We gave the Scripture (Jews and Christians) recognize him (Muhammad SAW or the Ka'bah at Makkah) as they recognize their sons. But verily, a party of them conceal the truth while they know it - [i.e. the qualities of Muhammad SAW which are written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)].
I was raised to be a Christian, but I am a seeker of truth. This says the "qualities" of Muhammad are in the Gospel (I've not read the Torah yet). Perhaps I will recognize them later as I continue reading but thought I'd ask anyway if anyone could point verses for reference. Any guidance is appreciated.

1 AnswerRamadan1 decade agoQuestion about Islamic prayers...?
I was looking up the difference between dua and salah when I noticed in a photo that only the men were praying. The women, elders and children stood or sat in the background. I understand the position of elders only being required to do what they can. Children not old enough to understand obviously don't participate just yet. But what is the role of women during the different types of prayer?
3 AnswersRamadan1 decade agoA question for Muslims...?
Yesterday, my sister and I were discussing different religions (we're protestant christians). She made the comment to me that muslims are taught to be outwardly peaceful with everyone while inwardly hating anyone who is not of the same faith. Is this statement true? Are there any verses from the Quran that you could provide on this subject?
The Bible teaches the following:
Matthew 22:37-40
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like unto it,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the
prophets."
Matthew 5:43-44
43Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

16 AnswersRamadan1 decade agoQuestion for Muslim point of view (let's try this again...)?
In order to find and understand the question you need to read the entire text. Hopefully yahoo doesn't cut part of it off again...
I’ve recently begun reading the Qu’ran and come across the following. Please keep in mind I haven’t read the entire book yet.
al-Baqarah
133 Or were ye present when death came to Jacob, when he said unto his sons: What will ye worship after me ? They said: We shall worship thy God, the God of thy fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac, One God, and unto Him we have surrendered.
Genesis 17
19 Then God said, "Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. [d] I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. 20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation. 21 But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year." 22 When he had finished speaking with Abraham, God went up from him.
From this we see that we both worship the same God (the God of Abraham) and that there were two sides to the first covenant. One with Isaac and one with Ishmael. Obviously these men were not Christians because the Christ hadn’t even been born yet. However, in your understanding of the following, would the new covenant of Christ make both sides of the older covenant obsolete? If not, is there a scriptural reference that explains why?
Old Testament:
Jeremiah 31:31
"The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
New Testament:
Romans 7:6
But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.
Romans 7:5-7 (in Context) Romans 7 (Whole Chapter)
2 Corinthians 3:6
He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
2 Corinthians 3:5-7 (in Context) 2 Corinthians 3 (Whole Chapter)
2 Corinthians 5
16So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Hebrews 9:15
For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians, what do people think of when you leave the room?
(Somewhat rhetorical, but I felt the need to ask/share this anyway.) Is the fragrance you leave behind the sweet aroma of Christ? Or have you left a foul aroma that others will run from?
2 Corinthians 2:14-17 (New International Version)
14But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. 15For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task? 17Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God.
