Hi Shenzara, pretty good video. I agree with it except the part about going to church anymore...because the churches have turned Christianity into religion and works gospels (with the help of Satan); God has commanded His true believers to leave them and "flee to the mountains" (Mt.24:16). The mountains being a metaphorical place for the Kingdom of God where truth is; we know that that is His word (the Bible).

Jesus came to abolish the law. Religion is the practice of the law, whether man's or God's. Keeping it does not grant you eternal life but we try to keep it because that is how we love God. If we are one of the ones He loved first then we will want to fervently keep His commandments.

    To answer Imacatho's question:

"Then Jesus made us really confused when He said:"

"And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)

"Why would Jesus build a Church if He wanted to abolish religion?"

The church in view in that verse is not the external earthly church(s) but rather the eternal church made up of all of God's elect (chosen people). We don't know who they are because we can't see a man's heart. The external churches and denominations (OT Israel and NT churches and congregations) were used by God to be caretakers of the Gospel and the word of God. But salvation is of the Lord and the building of the eternal church is done by Him alone. He gives the increase.

That rock by the way is not Peter, it's Christ of course. That verse is one of those stumbling stones that God gave to the churches to trap them in their pride.

Thanks for that question Shenzara! May God bless and keep you all.

Jesus did indeed come to show the imperfections of religion as far as Judaism was concerned and began new teachings that contradicted the Scribes teachings. He spoke of love, forgiveness and spoke against an eye for an eye mentality which Jews still follow.

Jesus founded a new religion by preaching flaws about earlier teachings of the Jews.

Why would Jesus build a Church if He wanted to abolish religion?

Religion is nothing more than relationship with God.

    With love in Christ.

Whatever makes sense to you. Yes Jesus came to abolish religion. Makes perfect sense.

Note, if Jesus said to do this and not do that, then that is a sort of guideline which basically becomes a religion.
