Fellow Christians: When someone refers to the Nation of Israel...?

It would depend on the context in which the word "Israel" is used I think.

Because Israel IS a country....AND also Israel does indeed refer to Jacob (aka Israel's) descendants.

Shenzara, the Pharisees did not believe that Jesus was God either. But the scriptures say otherwise. believe you not the Word of God?

Joh 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (2) The same was in the beginning with God. Isa 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a SAVIOUR; there is none beside me.

when someone refers to nation of Israel they are referring to God's chosen people and not trying to upset you but scripture itself refers to Jesus as God John 10:30 "I and the Father are one " then of course John 1:1 " In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God." then 1:14 makes this clear that the word was and is Jesus "and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us..."

Waaauw , your bible is altogether different than mine, I am an israeli, God bless Jacob with the name Israel because Jacob was hanging on Him , he did not want to let him go, he was asked to and he replied not before You bless me, and God blessed him with the name Israel , which means " straight to God " in that context ( it can be translated differently, but he was hanging in there, didn't he ? )
