Christians, what do people think of when you leave the room?

(Somewhat rhetorical, but I felt the need to ask/share this anyway.) Is the fragrance you leave behind the sweet aroma of Christ? Or have you left a foul aroma that others will run from?

2 Corinthians 2:14-17 (New International Version)

14But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. 15For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task? 17Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God.

Update:

Tony N: It's not really about what other people think of us, but about taking a look in the mirror. Are we honestly doing our best to live our lives for Christ?

Update 2:

Catman: If being a Christian makes me crazy then so be it. I'm happy this way.

I have good days and not so good days in Him.

I still suffer from the ill-effects of humanity (sin nature).

Not an excuse to sin but...........definately a good explaination.

But everyone here at work knows that I am a born again Christian because of the way I try to live like Christ

I think you forget to include verse 50 which is the central idea for this passage. Why did Jesus heal the girl? Why is this event found three times in the Gospels? Is it to demonstrate that most Christians cannot accept the healing of God? Or that the healing of God is not utilized today? This is not a question on how many Christians need to leave the room since there is no room to leave, but about Jesus performing miracles so the Jews at his time might believe that what he said is truth. From Jesus we know that all things are possible through faith.

    Think about your rhetoric.

If anyone is going to run from a foul aroma, they do it long before the person leaves the room.

Well, I am not a psychic. This also depends on which room we are talking about and so on. I try to be kind and friendly to all people at all times and sometimes it is harder to do than other times. Sometimes some extra grace is needed

This is exactly why I left the church and all that religious fervor instead I choose to serve my god my way! Remember when Jesus turned over the tables of the money makers? It seems everyone has their own version of religion! People take verse out of content distort and turn it into their way of thinking!

    Shenzara,

My attitude was formed long before I became a Christian. My mother and grandmother were wonderful women who treated others very well and taught me to be as kind and loving as possible with people no matter what their beliefs, nationality, wealth, or job title. I do my best to treat others as I want them to treat me (as Christ told us to do). Have a great week.

    Thanks,

    Eds

Depends on what time of day it is. In the morning I smell like Estee Lauder. After a long day on the job the fragrance wears off and I no LONGER smell like Estee Lauder till I hit the shower!

Who cares what people think. If a person is so fundamentally weak, as to be concerned about what other people think, then perhaps they need to review their views and beliefs.
