Robert Griffen III>Cam Newton>Terrelle Pryor, agree?

Robert Griffen III hasn't gotten anywhere near enough recognition on this site (though it is Yahoo! Answers, so it's not surprising). He's big (6'2 220), has legitimately Olympic caliber athleticism and is far more polished a passer than Newton or Pryor. He doesn't have quite the raw arm strength of either, but his accuracy is extremely impressive and he's been able to make passes to all levels of the field. Like Newton and Auburn Baylor does run a very gimmicky offense, but the kid just has so much talent.

Now I like Newton as a prospect. He has great tools and though he plays in a gimmicky offense if he sticks around another year or two and develops I can see him being a Josh Freeman type prospect in the mid first-early second.

Secondly, Pryor's accuracy comes and goes as it wants, and when its bad its BAD, especially on the short and intermediate routes. He rarely looks legitimately comfortable in the pocket and though he doesn't get enough credit for going through his reads he has trouble reading and reacting to blitzes. He also puts far too much air under his deep ball. If he was a first or second year starter like Newton I could give him a pass, but he's been a starter for over two full years in a system that emphasizes these kind of fundamentals. Unless something really clicks

I agree. I might even go far as to say even Tyrod Taylor from VT is as good or better than Pryor.

The best thing about Griffin though, is that he's good at keeping his eyes downfield when extending the play. It's a simple thing to do in theory, but hard to remember when getting chased by giant defenders, and every time I've seen him play (which has not been much, admittedly) he was good at sucking defenders in and unloading the ball before crossing the LOS. There's plenty of athletic quarterbacks like him, but once you get them running they won't unload the ball which makes it easier for the defense. I also distinctly remember a great play where he ran to the outside and gave a great pump fake to buy a second, and got a 10 yard run with that one move.

I think they are all about equal. Newton has tools, but he is a runner first. Pryor came in raw to OSU, and has improved every year. Now Griffen I haven't really watched much, but from the highlight reels I see, he is probably the better of the three. He also came in better. He really doesn't look any better than his freshman year before he got hurt.

Pryor came in with almost no coaching. If that proverbial light ever goes off, he will be the best of the three, because at times he shows natural touch, a savvy in the pocket, and good arm strength. The reason he looks better on the longer throws is because he is just chucking it, on the shorter ones, he is thinking too much. He went from running too much, to not running enough.

Look at the caliber or teams they play! Baylor plays in a conference loaded with awful defenses. Auburn plays in the BEST conference in america that is known for stout defenses. Also Newton has better stats, is more effecient passing, doesnt turn the ball over has a crazy good arm, and he can run faster than griffin..btw he is 6'6" 250...however i feel if griffin could win more ball games he woud be getting more hype than pryor but not newton

i think pryor. like you said about griffen, hes low key. newton is OVERRATED! he cant throw. the only reason he throws is because hes a run 1st so the defense thinks run. then, when they think pass, he runs. the problem is hes the freshmen version of pryor: run, then pass. pryor is really good, but if he is playing bad, he will keep playing bad. who knows though? it seems like every week, they pull a name out of a hat.
