What is best for painting old radiators...I know to use a high heat paint but do I use primer and what kind ?
I bought some spray paint for on radiators but doesnt say if I should prime old scraped off painted ones before I use it..I tried using reg. primer and it looked like rust spots when it dried...It wasnt rusty when I put it on...Is there a special kind of primer or shouldn
t I use any primer with paint or enamal??? THANK YOU for any suggestions//

It is never necessary to use special paint. Most people use the same paint as they used on the wall. This makes the radiator less obvious.
All you do is wire brush the loose stuff, spray with a primer for metal, and paint with whatever paint you want.

the better spray paints have "built in" primer. and high heat paint is not really needed for radiators. you should sand the rust spots first with fine sandpaper and dust off.

how warm is it gonna get? until you're attempting to set it on hearth lacquer paint is effective. or shellac (thoroughly dried- takes some week). BBQ paint & hi warmth paint works effective, yet in all likelihood does no longer be a exceptionally or wears as nicely as you need.
