One small thing I'll add that I have heard as a concern from newer players first learning about vigilance.
The creature can still only attack once in a turn (unless there is a spell or ability played to grant extra combat phases). Vigilance just means the creature doesn't tap when it attacks and can be used as a blocker (or can use any activated ability if it has any).

There is no limit to vigilance (or any static ability) on a card. At the time you declare attackers you can declare attackers without needing to tap to attack. This means you are free to use any activated abilities that need to tap that the card has during the combat phase or afterwards. Also since the you do not need to tap to attack your creature would be free to block and opponents creature on their turn.

Vigilance - This card does not have to tap to attack. It is a static ability. The creature will always have the ability unless you play something that removes the ability, such as Humility.
