Photography Question?

I'm taking photography A-level and it's purely coursework based, in doing research and analysis one of the things we're asked to do is describe the composition of photos, but I'm not entirely sure how to do that, how do you talk about composition?

This page will give you a good idea about the usual aspects of composition:

Look out for the things described in that article in the photos that you're up to analyze. It's a bit unfortunate that it does only provide nature/landscape shots as examples though, instead of offering samples of these concepts being used for portraits etc as well.

Take a look at Michael Freeman's book "The Photographer's Eye." Excellent book that I'm glad my wife bought for me without checking with me first!
