Giants fans is there anything better than watching the Giants win and prove all the doubters wrong?
Giants were not even predicted to win the division in spring training and they did.
Giants were not expected to beat the braves 3 good pitchers.
Giants were not expected to beat the phillies BIG 3.
Many people picked the Rangers over the Giants and the Giants are up 2 games to none already.
As a Giants fan myself I hope people continue doubting the Giants can win, it makes the wins even better.

This is great, but, to be honest, it IS unexpected.
I've been a Giants fan since 1958, when I was a kid. I've been to hundreds of games over the years and listened to or watched thousands of other games. Not ONE championship in all of those years. I wouldn't even say that this is the best team the Giants have ever had in San Francisco. But, you kind of get the sense that maybe it's FINALLY their year.....look at how Kinsler's ball hit on TOP of the fence and bounced BACK.
I didn't see this as a championship team early in the year when there was absolutely NO offense or in August when the starting pitching collapsed. Even in September, it took a collapse by San Diego to let the Giants get into the playoffs.
I expected them to beat the Braves and they did. Philadelphia would be a taller mountain to climb, but somehow they did it.
I've seen the Giants get this far before and I didn't think the Rangers would be an easy team to beat. I'm not celebrating yet, even after 2 easy wins....but it does look good.
This season is starting to remind me of the first time the 49ers won the Super Bowl. No one saw that championship coming, either. That was the best Super Bowl because they were not supposed to even get there. Their other championships were good, but by that time, you were disappointed if they DIDN'T win it all.
What makes this Giants run great if they do go on to win it all, is that they were NOT supposed to win it. If you're the Yankees, or the Phillies or the Rays, or the Red Sox, you're SUPPOSED to win it all and it's a big let down if you don't.
2 Games down and on to Texas to get 2 more!

Some baseball "expert" analysts had the Giants going 4th place in the division. They said the lack of hitting would be their downfall. Just goes to show how well those "experts" do their job.
Those "experts" just look at the stats on paper. And on paper the Phillies and Yankees are the best. But take a look at the West Coast teams smacking the East Coast around. Baseball is more than just numbers, and I think the Giants and the Rangers had the most heart out of all the teams to make it where they are.
This has been a sweet postseason. I'm loving every second of it. Even the torturous 9th innings are amazing. The drama. The suspense. The nails getting bitten off my fingers. And the HUGE sense of relief when Wilson finally closes it out. And as a Giants fan who has suffered watching all the heavy losses, I just feel overjoyed seeing the Giants finally coming through.
On a random note, Giants bandwagoners need to go home. If you weren't supporting the Giants to the fullest somewhere within these past 56 years, then you're not a fan. I see all these new Giants "fans" out of nowhere, and I think "Where were you about 2 years ago?". Makes me sick, but in the end a Giants victory is 10x more sweet for me than for them.

I had the Padres taking the division in that last series of the season. I figured for sure the Braves would win for Bobby Cox. I knew to a certainty that the Phillies with all that hitting and pitching would win the NLCS. The Rangers have Cliff Lee, CJ Wilson and Colby Lewis, so I had the Rangers in 6. Given all that, do you really want me to say anything positive about the Giants before it's actually all wrapped up?

No one is doubting now, except Texas. They seem to not realize that The National League clearly is a tougher division. Giants had a harder time against The Phillies, and The Braves than they are with The Rangers!

It feels nice, I must say. It's weird, I look at the teams we play and I think "wow, we'll be lucky to win this series". Then at the end of the day, I'm surprised if they don't win.
I know I'm just another fan, but compared to the rest of the season, the postseason isn't nearly as bad as we all thought it would be. Let's be honest Giants fans, we have close, nail-biting games for breakfast during the regular season. But now, where has all of the torture gone? It's almost a let down...

Heck yeah! It feels great to know the Giants are proving themselves, even though, they don't have to. They were highly doubted and they still are, which ticks me off because they just can't seem to get the respect that they truly deserve. That's the only torture left in the Giants Nation.
How do people not get; papers, predictions, and expectations are overrated in baseball? They are all worthless.

As a HUGE Giants fan, I am pumped up for EVERY single game. I have to admit it, until about September, I didn't think that we were going to make it to the playoffs. However, I believed in the Giants ALL THE WAY, and now, THEY'RE GONNA WIN THE WORLD SERIES!!!! WOOHOO!!
Source(s): GO GIANTS!!!! - 1 decade ago
I could not agree with you more!
Go GIANTS!!
There is nothing more awesome than going from being underdog that no one believes in, to proving the doubters wrong.
I say keep doubting - we still have two more wins until we take the series... :) Then there won't be anymore doubting.

Ya I have said the Giants team is the best I have seen in a long time. It's the sports networks fault if they refuse to say anything good about us and we just dominate.

I like what Bochy said when Giants won the game to go to the World Series..."we were nothing but a bunch of misfits and outcasts...." SO AMAZING!!! GO GIANTS GO!!! Just keep on GOIN ALL THE WAY!
