It appears that the curriculum for Chemical Engineering has limited focus on software courses.
Attached below is the course requirements for Chem Eng at Georgia Tech:

Some of the Chem Eng classes offered at Purdue are "Design and Analysis of Processing Systems", or "Statistical Modeling and Quality Enhancement" may be of interest.
