Is God really omnipotent and omnipresent? I can prove that he is either not omnipotent or not omnipresent.?

There is something God cannot do. Even by whatever logic you use, you will have to agree.

God cannot create himself.

If he can create himself (or as some of you will argue - he created Jesus) then he is not omnipresent because then Jesus, the God, would have a time when he did not exist. If God is omnipresent, then he cannot create himself because to create himself, he must not have existed at some point in time.

So, which would it be, omnipotent or omnipresent?

Update:

@I've got it! – Like I said “whatever logic” – logical or illogical. But I see you proposed neither. If you cannot provide a counter reasoning, it would be better for you to follow the example of @Kiro Miro. Furthermore, just because this question has been posed before, does not mean it was satisfactorily (just read the answers given here).

@Chris –why would God deny himself if he is the boss? He cannot sin because he sets the rule - Thou shall not this and that, but he kills and he becomes jealous - for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God (Exodus 20:5). He did lie –he claims he does not tempt - "… for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man." (JAS 1:13), but he did - "And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham." (GEN 22:1)

For those that insisted God always existed, or he is both, and etc, it did not address the issue that he cannot be both. At least @gutbucket’ answer cannot be faulted.

You see, I assumed that by you saying "even by whatever logic you use," that you would in turn be using sound logic. You're not. You've sat in front of your computer being pissed about religion for some reason and had an idea. You did not see if it was a question already posed in the past. You did not read what others have written on the subject. You are not even posing an actual question here to actually explore what theists would say. You're presenting your "thought" as fact and defying anyone to prove you wrong. Well I'm sorry to say that thousands of people far more intelligent than you HAVE believed that God is both omnipotent adn omnipresent and can use sound logic to support it. Grow up.

EDIT--The reason you're asking questions here is because you're afraid to be confronted with an answer to your objection.

You understand neither of the concepts. You are also stuck in the time frame of this universe. Obviously if God did create the universe then He also created the time-line by which it is governed. This means that He is both outside of the universe, and outside of our time-line.

Scientists today pretty much agree that there are numerous indications that more dimensions exist than our 3 dimensions (or 4 if you include our time-line). For some of the most accepted principles to work so far they have indicated at least 11 other dimensions, 4 of which would be different dimensions of time. Think of it like a tape recorder... play, forward, reverse, pause. A being who lived in ALL dimensions as we live in our 4 would be able to act within our "reality" but would not be detectable by any means. He could go back and forth in time as He willed so as to make time completely senseless Him. Even if He were limited spatially (which I do not believe is the case), He could spend our entire live holding our hand while at the same "time" spend the entire life of an alien on a distant planet holding his hand. He could do anything He wished within our universe, and could be anywhere and everywhere all the time. As a result of this, He would have no beginning. He would have no end. He would simply "Be".

evaluate a demonstration. think of that a instructor is telling his pupils a thank you to unravel a complicated venture. A smart yet rebellious student claims that the instructor’s way of fixing the priority is misguided. Implying that the instructor isn't able, this insurrection insists that he's accustomed to a much greater proper thank you to unravel the priority. some pupils think of that he's suited, and so as that they strengthen into rebellious. What ought to the instructor do? If he throws the rebels out of the class, what would be the effect on the different pupils? Will they no longer have self belief that their fellow student and people who joined him are perfect? all the different pupils interior the class ought to lose appreciate for the instructor, questioning that he's apprehensive of being proved incorrect. yet assume that the instructor helps the insurrection to coach the class how he could resolve the priority. Jehovah has achieved some thing resembling what the instructor does. bear in mind that the rebels in Eden weren't the only ones in touch. tens of millions of angels have been observing. (activity 38:7; Daniel 7:10) How Jehovah dealt with the insurrection could very much impact all those angels and at last all smart creation. So, what has Jehovah achieved? He has allowed devil to coach how he could rule mankind. God has additionally allowed people to control themselves decrease than devil’s preparation.

.As far as God being omnipresent you do realize that he went down to check on Sodom and Gomorrah to see if it was true what had reached his ears.

I believe this is in the book of Genesis,

Shocking bit of news. if you are a literalist.

I think we should decide first on how many angels can dance on the head of a pin and then move up to this question.

I love Jesus. It matters nothing that people do not know or understand all that God is or isn't.

    It's a book of remembrances.

When you are older, ask your siblings of their memories growing up.

See how many of you agree on all the details.

In my family, no one agrees.

It is like we all grew up with alien parents and were separated at birth.

Perhaps you can understand the Bible a little better. We all continue to learn.

    Peace .

Both, He tells us in the Book of John First chapter that in the beginning {{Meaning there was a beginning for God}} there was the Word, He our God is all Light and energy you see in Heaven if He is not that Light some would have stolen part of His Light to have energy to Shine! Gods Light/Energy is the Light of Men, we our spirit as the Fathers/I AM THAT I AM'S spirit is energy so in the beginning He our God was/is a mighty energy that began bringing forth more Life and energy! He is Amazing and He never said He did not have a beginning! He is omnipresent due to the fact that He is in us as we live or we do not live, Jesus Explained that He and the Father are the Life of our Bodies, and we just are that energy He grows within this host He created and makes breath and live each day! {{Also John17:21 much word on our Life/their power}} So Omnipresent and omnipotent and much more, NOW THATS A GOD...For proof of His mystery now being finished and His Epic gathering having begun...Go visit the website spoken of below.....It Has Begun...

Trying to view God through the lense of our limitations is like trying to piece together a biography of an author with only his bestselling book as reference. His personality and nature will show itself through his creation, absolutely - but his nature cannot be defined by the rules set into place within it. For instance, God created time and he put us within its limitations, but he himself is not bound to those limitations. Much of his nature and character is outside what we personally have observed and know how to grasp, and he has explained to us just what we need to know at this point and nothing more.

Grace is both omnipotent and omnipresent.

Law is neither omnipotent nor omnipresent.

pst: 7 grace us words healed impotent man,

was also later told: sin (law) no more, and

reason was: lest your last state be worse

Eternal Grace has neither beginning nor end.

Non-eternal Law has both beginning and end.

pst: only what began can end.

Law began. Law also ends. So

endure unto the end (of law) to be saved (graced)

Grace is above and beyond all the sides wars.

    Law is involved in Law vs Law & Law vs Grace;

but this sort of Grace is not the Grace God is,

for the Grace God is, is not over against any.

pst: "with grace" is not the same as "under grace"

With grace: above, is pure grace, is harmless

Under grace: beneath, is not pure, is harmful

pst: us-ward is neither of them vs them oppose themselves

pst: a more excellent way is neither broad nor narrow mindead

pst: above a servant is neither servant of sin nor servant of righteousness

pst: be no more children is neither children of the wicked nor children of the kingdom; since children get cast out

pst: greatest of three things is neither great nor greater; since great can be great terror of great tribualtion of baby-lon the great is twice fallen, and greater can also be greater damnation via resurreciton of damnation starts the damnation process all over again and again

God is both omnipresent and omnipotent as the definition allows for in reality, not in every hypothetical definition of the words, for that incorporates nonsense.

God created Jesus Christ as he appeared on earth.

Yet, Jesus always existed with God the Father and His Holy Spirit.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, AND DWELT AMONG US, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

    --John 1:1-4, 14

Jesus Christ is God. The Word of God became a man on this earth by the miracle conception involving His Holy Spirit and through a normal birth, involving a woman, to die in our place for our sins to show us how much He loves us.

The one thing that God can not or will not do is lie.
