1994 Honda Accord DX questions?

Just got a 94 Accord DX with 164k on it.(my first Honda) automatic.

It isn't much but i needed something.

I've read that the following reliability issues are common:

? About the Tranny:

I want to try the lubeguard conditioner to remedy the harsh shifting. Have you tried this?

It dosen't seem like its going out, feels like i'm riding passenger in a manual.

? About the Fuel sending unit:

The problem with the fuel gauge showing incorrect levels and sometimes dropping below E suddenly. also the low fuel light not working.

Read on Honda forums replacing the fuel sending unit would remedy the light and gauge problems.

Can I get a lone FSU at a major Auto parts chain?

I've read about universal ones... but can't find the info I need.

I'm under the impression that pulling a used FSU from a junked one would not fix the issue due to the malfunction being not related to failure of the unit.

Thanks for your wisdom.

Don't put additives in the transmission. Change the transmission fluid - never flush it, just drain and fill - every 30K miles using genuine Honda ATF. Each drain and fill only changes about a third of the fluid and I suspect yours hasn't been changed in ages or Dexron was used; both of those mis-treatments will make shifting rough. It is a good idea to to the drain and fill every month for the next three months, which should help the smoothness a lot.

I haven't had trouble with the fuel gauge in my daughter's 1993 Accord. I think you would have good results with a wrecking yard unit.

The collision of Aqueous taken place physically rather than chemically, than it get combined with the fuel to exist as a really tiny droplet which are covered and leap consistently with the fuel. Throughout the process of combustion the droplet of fuel is disjointed. This creates a greater surface area for the fuel to access oxygen. Due to this, the burning of fuel goes more steadily and it reducing emissions, also improving combustion efficiency and eliminating power draining deposits. thats all i read in an article...
