Will a Nintendo DSi bought in the USA work with games bought in the UK?
I want to bring gifts to the UK for Christmas but worry about compatibility issues. I know the TV is PAL and in the US we have NTSC, and the voltages are different. What about the Nintendo DSi? Can I buy one here as a gift or do I need to buy it there?

The Nintendo DSi isn't region locked if you buy physical games as opposed to downloading them. This means you can buy games in England and they will work on your American DSi. However, games that are specifically for the DSi or games that are DSi-enhanced are region locked.
If you're unsure if a game has been DSi-enhanced, ask the person at the till if it has been so. There'll more than likely be some sort of little symbol on the game packaging to let you know it's been enhanced so you don't make any mistakes.
