Hi,
You can't dump YPulse as it's part of the Account information but on that you can choose not to have connections with anyone and you need to go into Show all Yahoo Connections and select No One for each of them.
Click Save & your done.
You can also hide your profile from others by clicking the "Hide my Profile" on the same page as well.

As far as i know, there's no way for you to delete your yahoo pulse page 'cause once you signed up for a yahoo id you'll automatically have a yahoo profile/pulse page. You can just always ignore the connections invites or hide your profile instead.

I don't know how to delete it, but I know how to hide it. Click on "My Activity". Click on "View my profile". Click on "Settings." Select "Hide My Profile". This is what I did. It should stop the "connect" requests.
EDIT:
This may cause you to have a little exclamation point instead of an Avatar, though. It's weird, sometimes mine shows up and some times it doesn't.
