Why is Geelani asking Kashmiris not to send the children to school.?

very correct you are. he knows very well that the uneducated masses can be easily diverted on the name of separatism and they can easily take on their emotions because they are simply not in a position to read and write and connect to the world or could capitulate their good and bad. and one thing to mention what type of independence they are talking about- living in india, eating in india and still cursing the nation with no action taken against. i don;t think such freedom would be available any where else. and i suggest that india is putting lot more money in ammunition and this is the time to use them. make all the separatists stand in a row and shot them in between their eyes and make the kashmir a heaven on earth again. neither they are living peacefully nor they are allowing the residents to live peacefully either.

That is the trick that muslim leaders practicise at large. They find easy going followers in uneducated and unemployed population so that they can continue to preach intolerance and hatred.
