Help! My truck won't start. Is it the battery or the starter?

I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota.. that wont turn over I put a multimeter to it which read 13+. it sounds like alot of clicking as I try to start it. everything works lights, radio..I could get it to start but I have to jump it.

    if it will start with a jump, that eliminates every thing but the battery. replace that and have the alternator tested.

    Could be the battery, or a bad connection. My battery quit at 5 years old on my durango.

    Check your battery terminal connections.

    Turn the headlights on and try starting it. If the headlights dim, it's your battery.
