You mean the USA might have gone into Iraq without even a second's thought as to what the aftermath & consequences of an invasion might be? Never! You'll be telling me the US government has lied to its citizens next.
To be honest, the sheer volume of disingenuous, mealy mouthed hypocrisy that has spewed out of the USA regarding Iraq is plain nauseating. Saddam was fine in the 1980's, when he was at his most murderous and was busily hacking his way through the Iraqis & Kurds, because he was a useful ally against Iran. Never mind that Iran had been shafted by the USA & Britain when they overthrew Mossadeq in 1953 and installed dictator the Shah, or that the USA sold sarin & tabun nerve gas plus $250bn of arms to Saddam, or that the USS Vincennes shot down IranAir 655 over Iran, killing 290 passengers & crew. No, Iran was the bad guy, and even though Saddam was a psychotic madman, he was the USA's psychotic madman; so he was given the green light to massacre his people with impunity, and nobody in the USA gave two sh1ts untill it became politically expedient to do so.
I hope Iran continues to make the USA look like the fat, annoying, childish playground bully it is.
