Should I get the new mac book air or a mac book pro?

This year for the holidays I was looking into asking for a laptop. I'm stuck between the 13 inch mac book air with the 2.13 ghz core two duo processor with 4 gb of ram, 256 gb of memory, and a super drive, or a 15 inch mac book pro with an 2.66 i7 processor, 4 gb of ram, 500 gb of hard drive, and the high resolution anti glare screen. I know that these two are very different laptops built to different needs. Originally I wanted the mac book pro due to its amazing performance, but with the introduction of the new mac book air, i am hooked at the general hype of the new mac book air. My current laptop is a 17 inch sony ar520 vaio and it has a 1.80 ghz core two duo processor, full hd screen, 2gb of ram, and a decent graphics card (at the time, not sure of the exact one.) I primarily use my laptop for web browsing (and lots of it, microsoft office (i would probably get windows to run on the mac), video playing, and some occasional gaming with games similar to call of duty. Right now my current laptop handles the gaming fine, and is a bit slow when it comes to multitasking with Internet other applications. As far as portability goes, I don't take my current laptop with me on vacations or trips (due to its large size and horrible battery life) but i would like to take my new one with me on my trips. I generally travel for a month or so in the summer and sometimes during winter and spring breaks. I currently do not need a laptop to take to school, but i am considering and applying to several boarding schools for next year, and if I get accepted, I would bring my laptop and probably use it quite often. I really like the amazing speed of the mac book pro, but the speed of the mac book air fits my needs and it seems quite amazing, with its portability and ssd drive. Another big thing is whether it is worth it to spend an extra few hundred dollars on the mac book pro. Lots of my friends said that they have had great success with the mac book pro, but none of them have tried either the new or old mac book air. Thanks for helping!

The MacBook Air is good at being light and portable and that's it.

Get the MacBook Pro, it's vastly more powerful, the hard drive and RAM are upgradable, you can replace the HDD with an SSD, and it has a proper graphics card as well. Call Of Duty won't work properly on an Air, but it will run just fine on a MacBook Pro.

Unless you really need the portability, get the Mac Book Pro. It is much more powerful and easier and cheaper to upgrade later.
