What do you think of my pome, 'Bright Shadow,' dedicated to real people?
BRIGHT SHADOW
Can a shadow be bright
Or does it hide in the night,
Creeping upon its prey?
Like a vampire who runs
From the light of the sun,
It fades as night turns to day.
It cannot darken the light
For it stalks at night,
And then the morn flips it away.

It's the Internet. We're all unreal. "All the world's a stage." ---William Shakespeare

A dark shape clouding slightly lighter skies,
a six foot wing-span, a burst of piteous cries.
A mountain crag that no man has ever marred.
A low moon crescents dolefully like forced smiles,
a wind sweeps fallen foliage into piles.
The distant cliffs iced with white frost wintered hard.
As the shadow circles over, seeking prey,
all fears, as the thing nears are eased away:
'tis but an ancient gryphon, keeping guard.

It has been inferred that my words don't belong
that perhaps my time here is a waste
I am strong in beliefs that no matter how brief
a taste of the internet poets surrounds
... I am not
what you think, perhaps I am more, I am sure
that in retrospect, I might abhor
the things that I love and the people I share
my thoughts and my feelings with, I do... I dare
...So I am
what I want to be most of the time as I spend
my time here in an internet clime writing my
answers with unmastered speed hoping the
words that I say will be heeded and on my worst day
... I will pay
in spades my own debts, to society high
and those lowly rejects, none of the better none
of them worse a curse or a verse they may
bestow on me.. I pray, I delay, I sing in the breeze
... I belong

A shadow has no existence in the dark
Or, at least, none of which we're aware
But the things that hide in the corners
exude an odour of putrefaction in the air.
Darkness is the only refuge
of these pitiful members of human-kind
who find pleasure in spiteful acts
and in leaving their foul smell behind.
We can only feel pity as they nightly run
Deprived forever of the warmth of the sun

I've always wanted to respect you and hope I have, and you bring up points that seem to be a valid theme in some of us feeling.
I've never assumed or bragged about being close to worthy, and in fact can get swarthy in defense, but that's often wasted effort, better spent on doing what I most enjoy.
I think, no I know, what's turning many away, not in fear, and not in flight. is the infighting, and the ignoring what this category should be mostly about.
I have no time to suffer fools well, and I have no doubt that some of my posts dwell on immature things, or dreams and schemes, but I have as much right to say, not pause in the negatives delivered, afraid to express another day.
Most here, far more proficient, prolific, and certainly more skilled, might consider not getting into the swill, and focus on whatever is their passion, in their fashion. I could name the haters but refuse, as it serves no purpose, has no progressive use.

I think your pome is a good read. I especially like the second stanza. I'm not scared of vampires

it depends on how u construed 'Bright Shadow'. he used Bright as a synonym for Clever.. not as an antonym of the word Dark.. good poem about dark shadows.
