I want to surprise my Daughter tonight for her 4H meeting..How do I braid a horses tail for curl?
I can't believe I'm asking this question! lol.. Do I have to wet it? Hairspray? How long does it take to lock the curl in?

Wash/wet it down and comb out. Then put hair mouse all the way through.
Plait it tightly - just make sure it's not sore for the pony. If you want the whole tail curly you could do several smaller plaits so you can plait the top as well as the bottom.
I would leave it a couple of hours to let the hair dry with the mouse in it, also you can use some hair spray.
Once it's dry and once you unload at the meeting take the plaits out and gently shake the tail out and it should retain the curl for a couple of hours at least. Leave it till the last minute to take the plaits out to keep the curl for as long as possible.
Good luck

1.Wet your horse's mane down and wash it if you wish. Then, add some detangler and a sheeny spray.
2.Carefully detangle the mane and brush it throughly. Dry your horse's mane a teeny bit-just a tiny amount of water left in the mane.
3.Braid the mane loosely with some braiding bands and spritz it with some detangler once more.
4.Wet your horse's tail and wash it if you wish, then spray it with some detangler and sheen. Comb it out gently.
5.Dry the tail a tiny bit and braid it loosely, also. If you have one, cover the tail in a lycra or nylon tail bag.
6.Un-braid the tail and mane, gently shake them out.
7.Re-braid the mane and tail tightly (make sure this is comfortable for your horse) and spritz it with a favorite sheen product.
8.When you feel it is time, take the braids out and gently shake your horse's mane and tail. Ta-da! A beautiful, silky, and curly mane and tail!
