Can fumes from bathroom sealent damage an iphone 4?
my new iphone was was on my bed, in my bedroom with my bedroom door closed. We had the bath in the bathroom down the hall sealed and the smell from the sealent is really strong. will this have any negative effect on the iphone?

The smell from silicon bathroom sealant is acetic acid, given off as it cures.
If the sealer is actually in contact with some metals, it can cause corrosion or green discolouration - but just the fumes at a distance should not have any effect.
It's the same acid as in vinegar, so not particularly nasty stuff, just a strong smell.

Apart from possibly making it smell bad for a day or two, no. Drowning or Dropping it are the only real damage causing things to be wary of.
