Why won't my goldfish swim inside his cave? How can I train him to go in it?
Now I know i could stick some of his food into the cave but i want him to go in not only at feeding time.

I don't think you can. My goldfish only go in the driftwood cave if they think there's food in there, but otherwise ignore it. They're not big on hiding spots. In my experience, bettas like caves a lot more.

Goldfish don't like dark places. If you shine light into the cave then he will go in.

Goldfish are not cave dwellers and it will think that yuo're going to trap it to give it to your cat.

Gold fish don't like hiding places, especially caves! You can add more fake plants!

Its just like with a dog, you start training for rewards, then they do the trick when you ask in hopes of a reward or attention of some kind.
