Has anyone been on a flight between America and South Africa?
This is for research for a story. Have you gone from America to South Africa, or the other way around, by plane? Was the plane booked out, or were there extra seats? What time of year did you go?

I've flown back and forth several times. I've experienced both: Delta flights were usually completely full, so I don't understand why they stopped their service to Cape Town. (I've flown them in January and in June.) Most recently I flew KLM in late August and was pleasantly surprised to see there were many open seats (allowing for stretching out and sleeping).

I flew to the States with Lufthansa last March. They had overbooked and were offering those who were willing to fly later vouchers worth E500!!
