Did this election result make Obama a shoe-in for reelection?

Each time this scenario has happened, the president was reelected by saying that the republican congress is "do nothing". Since we know the republicans are not interested in compromise, can we assume that nothing really gets done for the next two years?

Now the Republicans have to govern and they can’t do that by just saying no and repeating talking points. Now they have to take some responsibility and the people will see how their policies never work.

I may be wrong, but I think Obamas chances would have been better if the dems lost both branches of congress, as it stands, when the repulican controlled house tries to put through law now, it will either get shot down in the senate, and that wont hurt the pres, or the dems worried about re-election in 2012 will go along with it to save their jobs and then it will fall directly in the lap of Obama. if he is willing to pass laws that make it to his desk approved by republicans in the house and Dems in the senate, he has a good shot at re-election, if he VETO's those same laws, he may be gone in 2012.

Had we taken the Senate too, that might have been the case. The fact that liberals (by a small margin) have kept the Senate, that sort of balances things out and "do nothing" works both ways, eh?

I'm probably one of a few Conservatives who did not want to win the Senate for that exact reason. Having people act like Obama was the underdog because 'we had control' would have been a disastrous political move.

All THIS Election was, was phase 1.

Phase 2: Get rid of the REST who jammed Obama-care down our throats.

AND get rid of Obama! Hillary is just licking her chops, that she will get her shot.

BUT, she will get it against a Republican Congress, and probably a Republican Senate.

And she can thank Barry for ALL THAT!

Plus, he gave her her present "job", that is giving her that "foreign policy" experience that she only THOUGHT she HAD, two years ago.

I wonder WHO the Republicans will put up against her.

    Obama is "one and DONE"!!

You see, the Democrats in the Senate will likely obstruct the Republicans efforts in Congress.

IF anything gets to Obama's desk, from the Republicans, he will likely VETO it, ultimately sealing his DOOM.

    It's a beautiful thing!

    Say "Bye, bye", Barry!

It's possible, but the republican base is pretty fired up at this point, the democrats will have to do some serious work to win the independents back and get their base fired up again.

Not exactly the same scenario since the Dems still have the Senate.

  • I think it's paving the way for a Democrat challenger in 2012 and more political unrest on the left.

No, not this time. Obama is not smart enough to go to the center. Even liberals, like Ed Shultz, are saying BO is the next Carter.

P.S. Nothing got done in the "LAST TWO YEARS" either!

that would only happen if the american people dont watch whats going on.....

they will be watching the republican party very closely , and they will see if the democrats comprimise
