As a christian, is it ok to ?

1) is it ik to vote for an atheists view, as long as its not combative towards christians?

2) is it ok to not vote for a christians view, when their not being Christlike in their answers?

3) dont you think we could all be a little more respectful towards each other?

Update:

I am a christian and i pass over dozens of questions untill i find one that is not mean or demeaning.

Update 2:

I basically gave everyone a thumbs up(at least the first 10) I find it strange that there were no bad comments like you would usually find in here.

could it be that i recieved positive answers because i was first respectful?

something to think about

A Christian can vote for whoever they want to. They should just be prayerful about it and seek to support candidates whose positions in the past have met up with what the Bible teaches about how people should live.

Christians are told in the Bible to respect everyone.

1 Peter 2:17 Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king.

  • 1: Yes, absolutely, if the Outcome is positive, and the view does not conflict with Christs teachings, then why not?

2: If a view is not Christlike in it answers, then it's not a Christian view, Christan by definition means "Christ Like".

3: Yes, Absolutely, We need to, I'm tired of all the hate and bitterness myself. As PoBoy said, "we may disagree without being disagreeable".

Regarding your first two questions: If that's what might be bothering you about voting for a candidate, you've missed the point of electing people to office in the U. S. A. How about voting for someone willing to bring our troops home NOW! How about voting for someone who will stop screwing the taxpayer while bailing out corrupt Wall Street and even more corrupt banks? How about taking care of the poor and sick instead of having the biggest and toughest war machine in the world? Who would give a damn then if they were either Christian OR atheist???

Regarding your last question: I am always respectful toward people who appear to be using the brain God gave them (atheist or theist). The rest can go to Hell in a hand basket . . . and that pretty much looks like the place American is headed right now!!!

Oh, you are talking about choosing BA in here huh ? I think some people think you are talking

about politics... I did at first..... anyway, I have chosen atheists a few times for BA, because they knew their stuff and could articulate it very well... and I have even been chosen by a few atheists as BA..... BUT, those days are just about gone in here.... The atheists who were respectful and or actually answered the question are long gone and or few and far between in here..... But, those few that are in here, the ones who actually to at least try to answer are very nice individuals I must say.... and they even understand my weird sense of humor and know when I am being sarcastic.... and I them..... I too pass over MANY questions, but some just beg to be answered, I know I shouldn't..... *sigh*..... anyway, just my thoughts.... go in peace... God bless

The answers to 1 & 2 are yes and yes. All Christians should think for themselves, otherwise they are being manipulated into mindlessly doing the will of others. Very un-Christlike.

    3. Yes, we may disagree without being disagreeable.

the religion (or lack) of the person being voted for should not be a consideration. The only thing that should count is if they express views and policies which you want in that position.

Jesus said, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments” in John 14:15.

Obedience is the proof our repentance and trust in the Savior are real. When I truly began to comprehend that Jesus’ sufferings were made necessary by my sins, and that He willingly endured the horror of a Roman crucifixion for my sins, the question really became, “How could I sin against love like that?” How could I willingly choose to trample underfoot as worthless His blood poured out for me? I would only be proving that in reality I was deceiving myself, and my so-called “repentance” was really proving to be hollow; my so-called “believing” was no different than a 8-year old’s believing in the Tooth Fairy. Realize Jesus took the punishment your sins deserved on His cross. God is just. He must punish all sin; if He does not, then He is unjust. Confess your sins to Him and turn from them. Ask His forgiveness, and ask as often as needed. He will! Trust the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross was big enough to assure you of eternal life and empower you by the Holy Spirit to do what He commands. Or will you cast aside His gift for you, proving in reality it is worthless or worth little; you prefer your sins? This life is only a drop in the ocean compared to eternity.

"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

How about if it doesn't oppose God's view on things that means that it does not conflict with the Bible.

People like to complain and argue and have their way. Haters gonna hate.

They'll probably never like each other.
